Do I Need an Advisor?

Whether or not you need an advisor depends on many factors. Based on your players’ needs, we evaluate when the right time is best for you.  Often, we start working with players at the Bantam/U14 age groups. Our services are especially valuable for families who may lack a deep understanding of the hockey landscape or want expert guidance to navigate the process with confidence.

What’s the Difference Between an Advisor and a Mentor?

An advisor focuses on the strategic and logistical aspects of a player’s career. They assist with critical decisions, such as team selection, college recruitment, contract negotiations, and navigating the hockey system (junior leagues, college, and professional pathways). Advisors bring expertise in the business, regulatory, and developmental aspects of hockey.

A mentor, on the other hand, is typically an experienced player or coach who provides guidance on personal growth, motivation, and mental resilience. Mentors help players navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of hockey by sharing their own experiences and offering advice on mindset, overcoming obstacles, and personal development as both an athlete and an individual.
